Florian Schulze
Senior Fullstack Developer

AI-driven tools will be an indispensable part of future radiology routine. However, those tools will probably not be seen as AI systems, but rather as innovative tools which just work and deliver a clear benefit.

Florian’s comprehensive history uniquely suits him for the role of Senior Fullstack Developer. He first attended the University of Koblenz-Landau, earning a degree in Computer Sciences with a focus on visual computing. He later completed his PhD at TU Wien, all the while working as a researcher at the Center for Virtual Reality and Visualisation in Vienna. Florian worked on some impressive projects, including: building a prototype for intraoperative virtual endoscopy for image-guided endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary surgery (for Medtronic at the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of Vienna); a prototype for spine labeling (for Agfa Healthcare); and a data mining and retrieval server for a large volumetric image collection of fruit fly brains, which was used productively in neuroscience research (at the Institute for Molecular Pathology in Vienna). In his current role, Florian is responsible for our products’ software architecture as well as deployment strategies. Originally from Wuppertal, Germany, he enjoys escaping to warmer climates for surfing whenever possible.

People would be surprised to learn…that I am quite the coffee/tea connoisseur.

If I wasn’t working as a Senior Fullstack Developer, I would be…working in applied research, contributing to life science projects.

Most rewarding part of my job: Finding simple (and therefore reliable) solutions for complex problems
