Florian’s comprehensive history uniquely suits him for the role of Head of Software Development. He first attended the University of Koblenz-Landau, earning a degree in Computer Sciences with a focus on visual computing. He later completed his PhD at TU Wien, all the while working as a researcher at the Center for Virtual Reality and Visualisation in Vienna. Florian worked on some impressive projects, including: building a prototype for intraoperative virtual endoscopy for image-guided endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary surgery (for Medtronic at the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of Vienna); a prototype for spine labeling (for Agfa Healthcare); and a data mining and retrieval server for a large volumetric image collection of fruit fly brains, which was used productively in neuroscience research (at the Institute for Molecular Pathology in Vienna). In his current role, Florian is responsible for our products’ software architecture as well as deployment strategies. Originally from Wuppertal, Germany, he enjoys escaping to warmer climates for surfing whenever possible.
