contextflow Co-Founders (L to R): Chief Scientist Georg Langs, Professor of Data Intelligence Allan Hanbury, CEO Markus Holzer, Chief Technology Officer René Donner
contextflow is an Austrian startup that began as part of the Medical University of Vienna (MUW) and Khresmoi European research project. In addition, we are supported by the Technical University of Vienna (TU). Founded in July 2016, contextflow was awarded that same year the Most Promising Startup Austria by the BCS Search Industry. In 2017 we received the Digital Innovation Award from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. Later in 2018, we were selected as one of 19 startups out of 700+ applications to participate in the Philips HealthWorks accelerator program. In 2019 we won Best Pitch – Healthcare at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna, and the Central European Startup Awards awarded us Best Healthcare Startup Austria.
Our Co-founders include leading AI and medical imaging experts with over 40 years’ combined experience in machine learning on medical image data and creation of efficient AI software development frameworks and 250+ peer reviewed publications for machine learning and image processing in medical computer science. And our international advisory board includes the current president of the European Society of Radiology, the president of the International Society of Radiology as well as the Head of Radiology at the General Hospital of Vienna (AKH).
We are currently testing our 3D image-based software with international proof of concept partners throughout Europe.
To empower radiologists to complete their daily workload faster and with higher quality and cost-efficiency by delivering a unique and scalable AI backbone that fully integrates into clinical workflows
To positively impact patient outcomes because an empowered radiologist is the most effective type of radiologist
When tackling issues, a step-wise approach allows us to identify the simplest, shortest path to an effective solution.
When it comes to decision-making, we preserve radiologists’ autonomy, supplying valuable insights at the point of care while leaving medical professionals in the driver’s seat.
We aim to get accurate, case-relevant information to radiologists fast, freeing them to spend more time on what matters most: patients.
By providing reference cases based on visual disease pattern detection, we help to eliminate AI’s proverbial black box issue: radiologists can see our technology working in real time.
We develop close relationships with our partners, allowing information to flow freely and quickly. We express gratitude to our network for enabling us to do what we do.
