Marta might be young, but she’s incredibly accomplised and motivated to work in the medical imaging field. While studying Biomedical Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, she interned at Hospital 12 de Octubre, designing an image processing workflow with tasks like correlation, normalization and quantification of Alzheimer neuroimages. Afterwards, she worked as an AI Consultant, classifying images, building ML algorithms and NLP models. If that sounds like a lot of data speak, that’s because it is. And this expertise is useful in her position as a Data Scientist. Marta not only enjoys sports, but she’s quite good at them: she’s a federated basketball and tennis player and basketfall referee.

If I wasn’t working as a Data Scientist, I would be…organizing events or traveling around the world in a van. 

Most rewarding part of my job: Seeing that the datasets and annotations we obtain are useful to improve diagnostics.
