Head of Research & Development
AI will completely transform the clinical workflow, automating tedious work and providing radiologists with actionable insights that make their lives easier.
Antonis’ impeccable resume makes him a perfect fit for our Head of Research & Development. Prior to joining the contextflow family, he served as the Chief Scientific Officer at ThinkSono where he managed the R&D team, developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) detection software from ultrasound images. Earlier in his career, Antonis worked as both a Research Associate at the Imperial College of London where he implemented a system for brain MRI analysis (including segmentation, surface 3D modeling and data analysis) as well as a Scientist at Siemens Healthcare, developing prototypes for real-time PET lesion segmentation. Originally from Greece, Antonis joined contextflow in November 2020 as our second full-time remote employee. He studied Computer Science at Athens University of Economics and Business before completing a MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Edinburgh University and a PhD in Medical Image Processing from Imperial College London. Never one to pass up a challenge, Antonis once won 1st prize for Most Accurate Algorithm at the MICCAI neoBrainS12 challenge.

If I wasn’t working as Head of Research & Development, I would be…a game developer working on indie titles.
